The-Adviser.com provides 100% Independent and 100% Objective Buy-Side Research. We perform no corporate underwriting or equity offerings. Our analysts have freedom to say what we think - not want companies want you to hear.

Our analysts probe management to understand the real trends. We use our intelligence and our instinct. All this is supplemented with daily fax and computer updates of comments on broad economic and interest rate outlooks coupled with timely industry and individual company information from published sources. Our analysts issue 4 types of ratings (Buy, Neutral, Avoid, Sell) for two different types of investors (short-term and long-term). Short-term is defined as a period of less than 1 year and long-term is defined as a period of three to five years. Our ratings are defined below:

  • BUY - Our analysts rate stocks a BUY that they believe will outperform the market as of the date of recommendation. This rating correlates into Zacks STRONG BUY rating.
  • NEUTRAL - This rating is not a negative rating rather it reflects our analysts beliefs that there are alternative companies and or stocks in similar industries who will outperform the stock in question at less risk of principle loss. It correlates into Zacks MODERATE BUY rating.
  • AVOID - This rating suggests that investors should NOT BUY THE STOCK. Our analysts issue an AVOID rating because they believe the stock or company in question is subject to extreme volatility that could result in principle loss to an immediate investment. Investors who own the stock should consider how this particular stock fits into their overall investment and tax strategy and make sell decisions accordingly.
  • SELL - Our analysts rate stocks a SELL because they believe there is immediate risk to the principle value of the underlying investment for both short term and long-term investors.
